Summary

Beyond Awareness (formerly Journal Entries) is for successful women in leadership and business who know exactly what they need to do but can't make themselves do it. You know you need to prioritize yourself, delegate more, set boundaries, stop bringing work home. You've tried therapy, coaching, retreats. You know the solution - but you either can't follow through, or when you DO, it doesn't stick. Host Samantha Hawley helps business owners and executives earning $100k+ excavate the root beliefs underneath the execution gap. Why do you keep not doing the thing? Why doesn't it feel better when you do? Using strategic journaling and emotional excavation, we go beyond awareness into why you're actually stuck in the pattern. This isn't about more tactics or tips. This is about understanding why awareness isn't enough and what actually needs to shift for you to change. You'll hear about: decision fatigue, why you can't prioritize yourself, nervous system regulation, being present with your kids, root cause of overwhelm, why boundaries don't stick, self-sabotage patterns, and how your internal state impacts everything. Perfect for: Female CFOs, VPs, directors, executives, business owners, and women in leadership who are tired of knowing what's wrong but not being able to change it.Copyright 2026 Samantha Hawley | Inspired by Brene Brown, Glennon Doyle, Marie Forleo, Hillary Kerr, Mel Robbins Economics Hygiene & Healthy Living Leadership Management Management & Leadership Psychology Psychology & Mental Health

  • 243. How to Notice Your Growth (Instead of Only Seeing What’s Left) | Journaling
    May 14 2026

The goals keep moving. The to do list keeps growing. And without even realizing it, it becomes easy to measure life by everything that still hasn’t happened yet.

A version of you from one year ago wanted some of the things that are normal to you now. But when life feels busy or unfinished, growth can become invisible.

This journaling episode is a pause to actually notice what has changed. Not in a performative way. Not through productivity. Just honest reflection around who you were, what you’ve walked through, and what feels different now.

    Journal prompts:
    • Who were you one year ago? What were you tolerating, afraid of, or struggling with back then?
    • What are three things that genuinely feel different now?
    • What did it actually take for those changes to happen? What emotional weight did you carry along the way?
    • If the version of you from one year ago could see you now, what would she say?

This episode is for the moments when it feels like nothing is working, nothing is changing, and you’re somehow still behind. Because sometimes progress looks quieter than expected.

  • 242. How to Come Back to Yourself (From Constant Noise to Clear Intuition)
    May 12 2026

Constant input from social media, business advice, trends, and other people’s opinions can slowly pull you away from yourself without you even realizing it. What feels inspiring at first can eventually turn into mental noise.

After taking a year away from social media, I started noticing quiet but significant changes in myself. I felt more creative again. Less distracted. More connected to my intuition. More intentional with how I spend my time, energy, and attention.

This episode is a personal reflection on the shifts that happened when I stopped constantly consuming and started paying attention to what actually felt good, calming, aligned, and true for me.

I talk about rediscovering creativity through art, changing my relationship with social media, making decisions from intuition instead of logic alone, investing in myself differently, and how much my identity has shifted over the past year.

Some changes happen loudly. Others happen so gradually that you only notice them once you pause long enough to look back.

  • 241. Journal With Me: How to Shift Your Identity (Even When It Feels True)
    May 7 2026

You keep telling yourself this is just who I am. It sounds true. Being messy. Always late. Bad with money. The one who doesn’t follow through. You’ve said it enough times that it feels settled, like something you don’t question anymore. But there’s still a part of you that doesn’t fully agree.

Those labels didn’t come out of nowhere. Something happened. A season got hard. Someone said something. Or you repeated it enough times that it stuck. And at some point it helped you. It made things make sense. But now it feels limiting.

Today you’re not trying to fix yourself. You’re just looking at what you’ve been believing and asking if it’s actually true all of the time. Even finding one small moment where it isn’t starts to shift things.

This is for you if you’ve accepted a label about yourself that still stings a little.

    Prompts to sit with:
    • I’m just someone who…......Write the first thing that comes up. Don’t overthink it. Go with the one that feels the strongest or the one you’ve quietly made peace with.
    • Where did that label come from? Was it something someone said, a season where it felt true, or something you repeated until it became your identity. Just notice what comes up.
    • Is there any evidence that this isn’t the full story. Think of one moment, one situation, or one area of your life that contradicts this label. Even if it feels small.
    • Who would you be without this label? Not a completely different version of you. Just you without that story running in the background. How would you show up today or this week in a simple, real way.

You don’t need to change everything. Just start questioning what you’ve been calling true. That’s where it begins.
