    “Send Coach John a message”

Found another gem, this one from Roy T. Bennett (@InspiringThinkn) where he shared this perspective: “Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.” To me this takes it a step further than “... focus on what you can control.” I like this as, of course, I needed this message right at this moment. Lot’s of things are going on and I’m feeling a bit out of control and down too. Seeing this helps me to put my focus and energy on not only what I can focus on, but also putting some action behind things too - in order to feel better about all of the things going on. Hope this helps you too. Thanks for listening. • Can't Change The Cards - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 6-30-26 - #1917
    Jun 30 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

Wonderful lessons from the past for me and it comes from a bigtime difference maker, Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) where he shared this quote: “We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.” — Randy Pausch. Mark then shared his thoughts on this - “Absolutely right! I humbly admit that I am not in charge of everything but I am in charge of how I respond to life’s setbacks, challenges & curveballs.” Not only did this connect with me right now (because I needed this reminder), but it also connected to me deeply from the fact that I used this to share with my students too. Here was my response to Mark’s post - Coach John Daly (@coachtosuccess) “Powerful reminder @MPHickie - I shared Dr. Randy Pausch’s story and his life-enhancing lessons with my classes (especially in my Principles of Leadership classes). My students would always share with me what a difference-maker he was for them.” Awesome memories with incredibly powerful lessons for this teacher, who always knows I need to be more like a student and keep applying lessons learned. As it’s been said - Lesson repeated until lesson learned. Keep learning my friends. Thanks for listening. • Be Proud of What You Have Overcome - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 6-29-26 - #1916
    Jun 29 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

Powerful and simple reminder for today, again one that I needed to take to heart as I see the total truth in it. It comes from Chris Foster (@CoachC_Foster) and the message is this: “Instead of being ashamed of what you’ve been through, be proud of what you have overcome.” Wow!! Yep… when I sit back and look at viewing my life from the point of view of what I’ve overcome and NOT being ashamed of the “self-shameful” moments, I start seeing a whole new (and true) view of myself. I have a smile on my face. I sit up a bit taller with my shoulders back a bit more. I see myself in a much more positive manner. This is right on target to connect with a lot more often, if not doing it every single day!! Thanks for listening. • Fear Inaction - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1915
    Jun 29 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found a great post from Coach AJ / Mental Fitness (@coachajkings) “The real fear shouldn't be action - it should be inaction.” There is a very deep post here that I will post on my social media channels for you to take a longer look at these thoughts on this very important life topic. It ties into Friday’s show dealing with regret and discipline. The intro quote from Coach John Wooden is a key part of this. “You’re going to fail on occasions. But the greatest failure of all is failure to act when action is needed… You have to act knowing that at times you will fail… that’s the greatest - absolutely the greatest - fault of all is failure to act when action is needed.” Powerful thoughts that go with this from Coach AJ. Again, for me this is a huge reminder as I stated when I reposted this: “One of the biggest (and truest) reminders that I know I needed to re-connect with! The “key” for me is to have this truth be a part of my everyday life. I have plenty of examples from my past where I didn’t try & plenty where I did. Always learning & growing! Thanks Coach AJ!” I hope you can make a big connection with this episode as well. Thanks for listening. • Discipline vs Regret - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 6-26-26 - #1914
    Jun 26 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

One of the all time classiest people that I have learned from in my life is Jim Rohn. This post is one of the biggies as far as life lessons go. It comes from Jim Rohn Official (@OfficialJimRohn) “For those who loved Jim Rohn, few lines hit harder than this: “Discipline weighs ounces, regret weighs tons.” It’s a timeless reminder that the small weight of daily effort is nothing compared to the crushing burden of missed chances. Which one are you choosing to carry?” I liked playing the recording for you so that you could actually hear Jim’s voice. Do yourself a favor and search for and listen to content from Jim Rohn. Pure Gold! I got a powerful thought of how fast time has gone by - listening to the 70’s & 80’s Music station on TV…. and WOW.. seeing some of the years connected to some of my favorite songs growing up…. Holy Cow!! There simply are some things that I know I need to act upon, so that I don’t have as many regrets as I get older, and I will (we all will) get older! It’s up to each of us to take a good luck at this thought from Mr. Rohn and we are the only ones that can do something about it for ourselves and our futures. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”

I came across a gem today that I needed (of course I need it, why else would I connect with it.) When these reminders come across my radar - it’s so important for me to grab them, use them, and share them. This is from Coach the Coaches (@WinningCoaches ) and the treasure they shared is this: “Let me give so much time to the improvement of myself that I shall have no time to criticize others.” – John Wooden. Of course it is from one of the greatest teachers of all time. This gets me fired up to keep looking for the gems I try and find every day to keep getting better and to stop wasting my time judging others, criticizing, condemning and complaining. Wow.. those things bring me down so much… and I need to look for ways to stop making those choices for sure. How about you? I’d love to hear some of your thoughts and ideas as to how you keep striving to improve yourself for the life that you want to build. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”

Found a reminder that I needed to hear and connect with again. It comes from Roy T. Bennett (@InspiringThinkn) and the message is this: “Make a difference in the world by being who you truly are.” The reminder is that each and every day I need to make the choice as to try and continue to be who I truly am. Authenticity is a key ingredient that is missing in much of the world. A big part of that missing key is for me not to have it missing in me and my life. One thing for sure is for me to keep working on improving every day, so that I can be my authentic self and have the best shot at making a positive impact wherever I go. Thanks for listening.
