Summary
Day 9 - Christmas Bonus Poem - The Black Candle
In the square, it stands alone,
A candle black as polished stone.
Its flame does flicker, cold and slight,
But casts no warmth, no blessed light.
Each night it burns, a mournful call,
A shadow stretches, cloaks the hall.
A scream is swallowed, sharp and dire,
Lost within the phantom fire.
The town grows silent, breath held tight,
Who’ll be the next to meet the night?
The candle waits, its hunger deep,
For souls it claims will never sleep.
