    More on the episode below.

In this episode, we do a languid Dead Sleep swan dive into Thérese Raquin, Emile Zola's scandalous tale of murder and betrayal in 1860s Paris - a masterpiece of French fiction that would go on to influence 20th century true crime writing, including Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. This smoldering saga of an unhappy wife-turned-femme fatale who secretly plots her husband's demise is as fascinating today as it was back in the day. Thanks again for supporting the podcast!

Even though I recently discovered this podcast, I am thoroughly enjoying it and it’s definitely one of my favourites. If you like true crime but without the gory details then this is for you. The narrator’s soothing voice transforms these crime cases to bed time stories. This offers a different perspective to cases that have been examined before by others. Nancy Miller is doing a great job. Thank you for this podcast, please keep going.

True crime but make it soothing

Soothing voice, good suspense but no gore. Considerately written, interesting content... although I have to re listen as I fall asleep half way through most!

Perfect.

Great voice, interesting subjects and no adverts…. I found this podcast by accident and I’m really glad I did. It stops my overthinking brain at night enough to send me to sleep.
