Clemson’s 2027 recruiting class is receiving more national attention after wide receiver Jamarin Simmons earned five-star recognition, but the latest rankings have also created questions about several other Tiger commitments.

Morgan Thomas explains why Simmons’ rise validates Clemson’s early evaluation, what the staff saw in him before the recruiting industry caught up, and why Luke Starcevic may be the more interesting test of Clemson’s scouting and development process.

Starcevic remains lower in the national rankings than Clemson’s internal evaluation, but the Tigers believe his athleticism, movement skills, frame, and multi-position background give him significant long-term upside under offensive line coach Matt Luke.
