奈良・斑鳩の地に佇む法隆寺。世界最古の木造建築として知られていますが、その価値は「古さ」だけでは語りきれません。アーネスト・フェノロサのような存在が、日本の美を見出し、外へと開いていきました。その結果、法隆寺は1993年、日本で初めて世界遺産に登録されるに至ります。日常の中では気づきにくい価値。それは食にも通じます。奈良の朝にいただく「茶がゆ」は、静かで素朴な味わい。
そこに奈良漬けの強い香りと塩気が加わることで、「おいしさ」が際立ちます。対照的なものが並ぶことで、はじめて見えてくる本質。法隆寺の美も、奈良の食も、その“バランス”の中で、今へと受け継がれています。
