I’m recovering from eye surgery but had heard this was a good drama so thought I’d have a listen. Totally sucked in from the start and the radio clips felt very familiar because I grew up in the 70s and 80s in the South of England.
The plot went in directions I didn’t fully expect and I was constantly second guessing what was going on.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau could read the phone book and I’d listen but he truly is an excellent actor and was completely believable as Chas. David Morrisey and Cathy Tyson are both riveting too (no surprise there because they are also terrific actors).
It was darker than I expected and played with some interesting themes linked to love, hate and prejudice.
Essentially, I binged this in two days and am going to relisten because I have some questions about the homeless man that I hope a second listen will clear up.
Not for the faint of heart but I strongly recommend you listen
