How do you choose a functional practitioner for thyroid health you can actually trust? What should you ask before paying for functional lab testing for gut issues like SIBO, food sensitivities, and hormone imbalance?
In this Thyroid Thursday episode, I shared why I’ve been seeing so many women feel deeply let down after investing in “root cause” care, especially when they’re handed confusing results, given a restrictive diet, and then left without real explanation or a clear protocol.
Functional health world can feel like the wild, wild west. There’s no standardized training across all practitioners, but that doesn’t mean the approach isn’t powerful and I’m living proof of that. But, it does mean discernment matters more than ever. That’s why I built She Thrives so clients get immediate access to their labs, a full walkthrough explanation, and a comprehensive protocol that explains the “why,” not just the “what.”
We’ll walk through the steps of what I’d look for when hiring a practitioner: a true partnership , integrity and willingness to pivot, relevant experience with what you’re dealing with, transparent methods, and high-quality testing with a clear plan for what happens after results come in. And I said the quiet part out loud—your readiness matters too.
Healing is a participation sport, and we don’t want to give our power away to anyone. Blind trust isn’t wise; discernment is essential, and you deserve someone who goes all in with you.
