About this listen

Happy Wellness Wednesday stunners! 🦋 This week we are debriefing THAT International Women’s Day campaign and sharing the story behind it all - a semi-nude photoshoot where our bodies became the canvas, painted with colour and photographed as a celebration of womanhood.

I’ll be honest… I was nervous, I was SWEATING when I pressed post!

Not about being seen in my body, but about being perceived. About what people might think when I shared the behind-the-scenes video. About whether opinions of me might shift, whether people would misunderstand the intention, or quietly judge from the sidelines.

In this conversation, I’m unpacking that experience - the vulnerability of stepping into something bold, the inner dialogue that tries to keep us small, and the quiet courage it takes to show up anyway.

It also felt incredibly aligned with the theme we’re moving through right now in my yoga spaces: emergence. Last week we spoke about the moment a seed first breaks through the soil - that tender green shoot meeting the light for the first time. But week two of emergence asks something slightly different of us. That fragile shoot begins to strengthen. The stem grows steadier. The roots deepen quietly beneath the surface.

And this past week, I realised life had mirrored that exact process back to me.

Saying yes to this photoshoot felt like continuing that emergence - choosing to grow taller rather than shrink back. Allowing myself to be seen. Taking up space with a little more confidence, even while the nerves and uncertainty were still there.

We talk about confidence, but not the polished Instagram version. The real kind. The kind that trembles a little. The kind that asks, what if I’m judged? and then gently replies, and what if I live boldly anyway?

This episode is also a reminder of the privilege many of us have to take up space. While women around the world are still fighting for fundamental freedoms, the act of expressing ourselves - creatively, physically, unapologetically - can be its own quiet rebellion.

So this is an invitation to colour yourself in a little more boldly.
To soften your grip on other people’s opinions.
To move through the fears and insecurities instead of waiting for them to disappear.

Because life feels very different when you stop shrinking and start living with a little more oomph ✨🫶🏻
