I really was no expecting how this story twisted and turned. It was a difficult listen at times but also answered some questions I had about this case and in face the claims on social media about the satanic elite. I deducted a star because although Ella appears to be complicit in this, domestic abuse and coercive control can penetrate at deep levels and the affects can last forever. Ella may never feel safe to face the truth and if she was in an abusive relationship before, that would have left her vulnerable to another. Whilst she needs to be held accountable for her actions, there also needs to be recognition for the trauma she may have experienced which may have led her to abusing her own children. Research tells us that people who have been let down by the systems that are supposed to protect us are more likely to find comfort in alternative therapies and can be mistrustful of statutory services. That is not an excuse for her behaviour but it may have impacted her decision making. As a society, we are all responsible for helping those regain trust in systems which is difficult when many of our UK systems use victim blaming language when child protection matters are in play. Other than feeling that this podcast missed an opportunity to help people understand the impact of trauma, I felt it was very good.

Fascinating

In a welter of conspiracy theories. This podcast gets to the truth. The story is generally well told though the overuse of flashbacks for dramatic effect can irritate at times. But overall brilliant journalism.

An extraordinary story well today.

This has always been a fascinating story. Shocked that after all these years there is still no closure. Highly recommend this podcast. very tastefully done.

The important thing about this podcast is that it highlights the fact that the children in this case were still abuse victims because of their fantasist parent and her disordered boyfriend. I remember hearing about this when it was all over YouTube some years ago. And cannabis is a known cause of mental health issues.

Very illuminating
