I just finished Footsteps on an Empty Beach by L. E. Ryan.
Here’s my review
This short story could have easily been my story, with exceptions, of course. I imagine it will resonate with many others who’ve lost their spouse or other loved ones, but also for those who still have ‘their person,’ I hope this story will enrich their bond.
Sometimes, the unimaginable can happen if we’re in the right frame of mind, and as far-fetched as this story may seem to a few, there are many more who would give anything for just…one. more. day.
(I listened on Audible and the narrator’s voice (AI) drove me crazy because I know someone who talks just like that, lol. I can’t put her face to it, but I think she is/was from the New Orleans area and it’s very pleasant.)
