  • Don’t Marry the Murderer: The Curious Case of Caroline Muirhead
    May 8 2026

When Caroline Muirhead turned informant against her fiancé, she expected the protection of the law. Instead, she was met with what critics call 'shocking stupidity and neglect.' We dive into the documentary Should I Marry a Murderer? to analyze how Police Scotland allegedly abandoned their star witness. We discuss the psychological spiral that followed—including Caroline’s descent into drug use and her controversial decision to move back in with the killer while acting as a secret operative. It’s a somber look at the high price of doing the right thing in a broken justice system.

  • The Alleged JP Morgan Situation
    May 6 2026

Join us for a quick chat about the unfolding situation involving a man accusing a female executive colleague at one of the biggest banks in the world of sexual harassment. We warn against trial by social media and discuss implicit bias while considering the messy landscape of “internal investigations.” The stakes are high and the public airing of details can make recovery for a victim or falsely accused more difficult.

  • Blood Nephew: The Mossler Case of 1964
    May 1 2026

In 1964, Jacques Mossler, a multi-millionaire financier, was found brutally murdered in his Key Biscayne apartment, stabbed 39 times. The investigation quickly turned toward his wife, Candy Mossler, and her nephew, Mel Powers, uncovering an allegedly illicit and incestuous romance that shocked the nation. This episode dives into the sensational trial that followed, exploring how the defense turned the 'forbidden' nature of the defendants' relationship into a distraction that led to one of the most controversial 'not guilty' verdicts in Florida history.

  • Familicide in Shreveport: Shamar Elkins and Family Annihilation
    Apr 24 2026

Eight children, ages 3 to 11, lost their lives in a single morning in Shreveport, but was this tragedy preventable? In this episode, we analyze the ignored warning signs that preceded Shamar Elkins’ rampage. From his 2019 conviction for firing shots near a school to his January 2026 stay in a VA hospital for 'dark thoughts,' the red flags were waving long before the first shot was fired on Harrison Street. We investigate the legal systems meant to prevent felons from obtaining firearms and the specific failures in domestic violence intervention that left Elkins’ wife and ex-wife vulnerable despite the escalating tension of their separation

  • The Gilgo Beach Murders: Vulnerable Targets
    Apr 17 2026

The arrest of architect Rex Heuermann in July 2023 was a shock to the world, but the evidence had been there all along. Today, we investigate the two forces that kept this case cold: systemic victimology and police malpractice. We analyze the profile of the 'successful professional' vs. the 'hidden victims' he targeted, and how the moral judgments of society and law enforcement created a 13-year head start for the killer. Featuring a breakdown of the Burke scandal and the forensic breakthroughs that finally bypassed the corruption, this is a deep dive into the darkest corners of Long Island justice.
