April 8, 2026 ~ Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit, a nonprofit founded by two Felician sisters in 2018, has operated next door to the St Jude Mission Church at Seven Mile and Kelly on Detroit’s northeast side. Dio Gratias Cafe' serves hot meals, runs a food pantry, community garden, and tutoring programs. Executive Director Bob Sadler joins Michigan Voices. The Cabrini Clinic in Southwest Detroit is the oldest free medical clinic in America, proudly serving those in need regardless of faith, language, or status. Other free clinics around the country have patterned their services on the work of the Cabrini Clinic, which was founded by Fr. Clement Kern in 1950.
