Kathy (M.K.) McDaniel had a near-death experience while in a medically-induced coma from severe pneumonia. What she witnessed during those moments of clinical death challenges everything we think we know about consciousness and what happens after we die. Kathy was raised Catholic and believed everything she was taught about the afterlife, including concepts of purgatory and hell. When she fell critically ill in Seattle, she was put into a drug-induced coma with only a 38 percent chance of survival. During that coma, she had an extensive near-death experience that lasted what felt like years. She witnessed dark, disturbing scenes and confusing scenarios.
