The danger when you under value & under express yourself
There is a kind of exhaustion that does not only come from lack of sleep… but from holding yourself back from being who you truly are. When we start doing things “the right way.” Becoming smaller. Quieter. More acceptable.
When we avoid taking up space, expressing ourselves, or valuing who we are out of fear of judgement, rejection, or being misunderstood… the body feels it. The nervous system feels it.
Because part of us remains in constant vigilance. Constant adaptation. Constant self-suppression. And over time, something begins to contract within. The breath becomes shorter. The body tighter. The energy lower. We can begin to confuse safety with invisibility. But the body was never designed to live in the constant compression of the self. It needs space. Truth. Movement. Expression. Expressing yourself does not mean becoming louder or more perfect. It means becoming aligned with what you truly feel. Saying yes when it is yes. Saying no when it is no. Honouring your voice. Your creativity. Your presence. And sometimes, healing the nervous system begins the moment we stop abandoning ourselves in order to be accepted or loved. You do not need to become someone else. You simply need to stop leaving yourself behind. Take a deep breath. Take up space. And allow your energy to flow freely once again 🤍
