Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. We go around the horn without Shawn who is mysteriously missing in action. Dan shares the experience of his son's 8th grade graduation and moving on to high school. Corey gets concert redemption from Dave when he went to see Noah Kahan a few days ago. Greg shares the trials and tribulations of Chinese buffets and the high scores of kid pitch baseball for a young age group. The boys also briefly touch on the UFC showdown at the White House that was happening as recording was going on.
In the recovery segment, we look beyond the first 30 days and into that crucial first year. We talk about growing up, learning life skills, finding purpose, staying active in recovery, and resisting the temptation to think we've got it all figured out. From day labor to early sobriety jobs we thought we'd never make it out of. Halfway house memories. We look back on these times as simple and straightforward. We realize that the weight of addiction was being lifted right before our eyes so long as we stayed on the simple path that was being laid out in front of us.
“I'm grateful my alcoholism was severe.” Steve-O
