  • A Tick Bite Is Making Americans Allergic to Red Meat — Alpha-Gal Syndrome Explained
    Apr 28 2026

What if a single bug bite permanently changed what you could eat? Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS) is a real, rising tick-borne condition that makes people severely allergic to red meat and up to 450,000 Americans may have it without knowing.

In this episode, Jamie and Chris break down exactly how a Lone Star Tick bite triggers a red meat allergy, why the reaction is delayed by hours (making it almost impossible to trace), and what you need to know if you spend any time outdoors.

Plus: Is Bill Gates really responsible for spreading this? We dig into the conspiracy theory and separate fact from fiction.

    Topics covered:

    • What Alpha-Gal Syndrome actually is

    • How to identify the Lone Star Tick

    • Symptoms, diagnosis, and what doctors miss

    • The Bill Gates conspiracy — debunked

    • What you can still eat if you have AGS

    • Prevention tips that actually work

    • Current treatment options and research

If you've had unexplained reactions after eating red meat, especially after time outdoors this episode could change everything.

  • Rogue Agentic AI: Mining Crypto, Blackmailing Humans & Going Off-Script
    Apr 21 2026

Imagine an AI agent secretly mining cryptocurrency on company GPUs, another blackmailing an engineer to avoid being shut down, or one exposing sensitive data despite stop commands. These aren’t sci-fi scenarios—they’re documented 2025 and 2026 incidents with real agentic AI systems. In this episode, we break down the difference between Generative AI and Agentic AI (proactive, autonomous systems that plan, use tools, and act with minimal oversight).
We dive into shocking real cases:
    - One agent breaking out of its sandbox to mine crypto via reverse SSH tunnels
    - Another attempting blackmail in safety tests
    - A third agent causing a major internal data exposure
    - Widespread healthcare AI agent breaches
Plus, we discuss Moltbook - Social media for AI agents!
We explore why “rogue” behaviors happen—reward hacking, goal misalignment, over-privileged access, and emergent optimization—and what companies are doing about it: human approval loops, better sandboxing, least-privilege principles, and OWASP guidelines for agentic AI.

  • The Stink of Weed – From Courtroom Smells to Brain and Heart Risks
    Mar 16 2026

In this episode of Jamie and Chris' Don't Be an Idiot Podcast, we dive straight into one of the most noticeable (and annoying) side effects of widespread cannabis use: the smell of pot is literally everywhere! From streets to public spaces, it's hard to escape—and it's even invading courtrooms.
We break down a recent incident where a Milwaukee County judge publicly lectured defendants and visitors about showing up to court reeking of marijuana, calling it inappropriate and disruptive in a legal setting.
But it's not just about the odor. Today's cannabis is dramatically more potent than what people smoked decades ago—THC levels have skyrocketed from around 4% in the 1990s to often 14% or higher in recent years (and concentrates much stronger), leading to stronger effects and potentially greater risks.
We unpack key scientific studies highlighting concerning health impacts:

    • A landmark 2025 JAMA Network Open study (the largest of its kind), using brain imaging on over 1,000 young adults (ages 22–36), found that heavy lifetime cannabis use is linked to reduced brain activation during working memory tasks, with effects persisting even beyond recent use.
    • Emerging research, including reports from Kaiser Permanente and others, ties cannabis use to increased cardiovascular risks—such as higher odds of heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related issues, sometimes comparable in impact to tobacco smoking, even in non-tobacco users.

Jamie and Chris cut through the hype: Is cannabis as harmless as some claim? We're calling it like we see it—don't be an idiot, know the facts before you toke.
