  • Our Talents and The Book of Life The Gordian Knot That Ties Our Lives is Mental It Can Be Sliced With the Sword of Jesus
    Apr 5 2026
Most of us members of humankind want to achieve happiness in this suffering world. And for a great number of human beings, happiness could be found in wealth, possessions, pleasure and status, and for the elite of rulers of this world, in addition to the above, they find comfort in the control and domination of our lives and our souls. However, even though all our natural gifts, abilities and schooling have been invested in the pursuit of this type of happiness, unhappiness still rules rampant in all segments of our societies. The cause can easily be found in our unredeemed fallen natures, because the obvious missing ingredient in this secular and faithless world is the word of God. Jesus, the son of God, came into this world and taught us about another realm, one where we will be happy, the kingdom of Heaven, and showed us how to achieve it through His life example. If we follow His teachings, we will be able to raise and redeem our fallen natures, but this human effort will require of us everything we are, our best abilities, and natural endowments to manifest in our lives obedience to the truth of God. Our talents represent God’s truth. And Jesus, before He left us, gave us talents according to our abilities to use them and increase them to render good fruits for His return. There is generally a very strong bond between one's earthly works and one's heavenly destiny and identity. In the parable of the talents, Jesus said that to every one who has increased their talents more will be given, but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And at the end of times, our faithfulness or rejection of God’s truth will determine if our name will be read aloud, or it will be nowhere to be found in the book of life. And the worthless servant will be cast into the outer darkness, where it will be thrown into a lake of fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
