It's hard to believe the message of the Cross. It's hard to trust that in letting go, we'll receive; that through suffering, we'll find healing; that it's in dying that we'll find life. But that's really the heart of Holy Week: life now comes through the Cross, because that's where Jesus has gone. Because of Jesus, because of what He's done for us, everything is grace. That's the truth we celebrate this week.

Jesus didn't come to simply give us more of the same. He came to transform everything and everyone who belongs to Him. That is the resurrection promise: not a return to what was, but a life made whole — healed, restored, and made new in God. This is the heaven we long for, and it is worth the wait.

Lent is not so much about doing external things, changing this or giving up that. It's about getting down to the heart of what's off in our lives. I'm not the only one who's not always following the correct road. All of us are driving our lives off course, and none of us want to stop and ask for directions. But God wants to come into each of our lives, give us the direction we need, point us on the right way, and get us back on track. We must only have the courage and humility to get down on our knees, roll down our windows and ask for directions.
