Spiritual drift rarely announces itself. It feels more like waking up mid-drive and realizing you cannot remember how you got here. If you have been wondering whether your walk with Christ has cooled, whether God still speaks when you feel weary, or how to regain the passion you once had, this Revelation study opens chapters 2 and 3 and lets Jesus’ own words do the searching and the healing.

We move through the seven letters to the churches and listen for what stays consistent: Jesus knows. He sees the unseen burdens behind your Sunday smile, the compromises you rationalize, the suffering you are carrying, and the quiet faithfulness nobody applauds. From Ephesus and the warning about forsaking first love, to Smyrna’s comfort in hardship, to the cultural pressure faced in Pergamum and Thyatira, the message is honest but never harsh. Even Laodicea’s strongest correction comes with a tender invitation: “Here I am. I stand at the door and knock.”

We also unpack the Greek word nikaō (νικάω), translated overcome or conquer, and why biblical victory does not mean an easy life. Overcoming means staying loyal to Jesus through trials, temptation, disappointment, emotions, and noise, trusting the One who has already conquered sin and death. You will leave with practical next steps for reading Revelation 2–3 slowly, using Bible study tools, reflecting with devotions and journal prompts, identifying which letter hits closest to home, and choosing to listen with humility and attention.

  • 153 | God Speaks Most Clearly In Uncertain Times (The Book of Revelation - Part 1)

The world is loud, and it is frighteningly easy to let headlines, opinions, and daily pressure hijack our attention until we are staring at the storm instead of Jesus. When that happens, trying to manage every anxious feeling and feelings of burnout can take over, leaving even believers who deeply want to reach others for Christ feeling stuck, unsure, and intimidated by spiritual conversations. Processing these heavy emotions begins with a simple shift in focus, because we cannot point others to a Savior we have stopped gazing upon ourselves.

That is why we are beginning a seven-part Revelation Bible study by starting where Revelation starts, with the revelation of Jesus Christ. Not timelines. Not speculation. Not fear. We are looking for pure biblical encouragement as Revelation chapter one pulls back the curtain and gives us a fresh view of the glorified Christ. He is radiant, holy, powerful, and near. John receives this vision while exiled on Patmos, which means God is fully able to meet us in our own hard seasons with real comfort and steadying truth.

We also dig into the meaning of apocalypse as an unveiling, and why Jesus standing among the lampstands is such a practical reminder that He is present with His church. If you need to hear the command to not be afraid again, this is for you. And if your daily devotions have started to feel like a checklist, you will get a simple invitation to return to presence, awe, and relationship with the living Savior who holds history in His hands. We will also talk about how incorporating aromatherapy and your favorite Young Living essential oils into your study space can beautifully calm a wandering mind and help you settle deeply into the Word.

  • 152 | Do You Have Spiritual Discernment? What If Contending For The Faith Is Love? (Jude Bible Study)
    Jun 1 2026

Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blog

    Companion Resource (Printable): PaulaBehrens.com/store

One of the smallest books in the Bible might be the one we need most right now. Jude is short, direct, and filled with urgent imagery because the stakes are real. Faith is precious, and it can be slowly reshaped by messages that sound spiritual, use Christian language, and yet quietly pull hearts away from Jesus.

In this episode, we begin with the grounding truth Jude gives first, not fear, but belonging. We are called, loved by God, and kept for Christ, so we do not respond to spiritual confusion with panic, but with steady faith, biblical encouragement, and a heart anchored in truth.

From there, we dig into Jude’s core command to contend for the faith once delivered to God’s people. We talk about why “grace” that refuses obedience is not biblical grace at all, how to recognize hollow spirituality, and what Jude’s vivid descriptions reveal about pride, manipulation, self-serving speech, and the deeper emotions often at work underneath it all. We also walk through Jude’s sobering examples from biblical history, not to stir up fear, but to help you take holiness seriously and stay rooted in Scripture through your Bible study and devotions.

Then the tone shifts toward strength and practical help: build yourself up in your most holy faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, keep yourself in God’s love, and wait for the mercy of Jesus. We also explore Jude’s guidance for caring for real people in real trouble, showing mercy to those who doubt, reaching urgently for those near the fire, and using wise caution when compromise is contagious.

If you have ever struggled with feeling spiritually weary, sorting through mixed messages, or wanting clearer discernment without becoming harsh, this conversation will meet you with truth and grace. And if simple faith-filled rhythms like prayer, devotions, essential oils, and aromatherapy help you settle your heart before the Lord, this episode will fit beautifully into that space.

We end where Jude ends, with hope: God is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glory with joy.

If you are hungry for deeper Bible Study, Christian discernment, and a steady way to contend for truth without losing tenderness, press play. Subscribe, share this episode with a friend, and leave a review so more women can find encouragement, clarity, and peace.
