  • How to Step Through the Doorway of Divorce with Guest Farhana Hussain
    May 14 2026

Midlife divorce rates are on the rise, with grey divorces – those of over 50s – doubling in the UK since the 1990s.

According to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics, women are now more likely than men to apply for divorce.

And as the longevity revolution gathers pace, this silver splitting trend looks likely to continue.

So I’m delighted to be joined by my guest Farhana Hussain, Divorce Doula and author of “She’s Not Done Yet”, to talk about how to realise that divorce isn’t your downfall, it’s your doorway.

We explore the stigma and societal pressures that still shroud divorce, how to recognise that you are stuck in your own story, and how to choose and live your new story by “turning your mess into your masterpiece.”

And Farhana shares honest and heartfelt insights and lessons learned from her own divorce journey that we can use to help navigate our own path through this potential minefield of emotions.

  • How to be Kind to Yourself with Guest Kim Stokes
    May 7 2026

We talk a lot about self-care here on Midlife Unlimited, and it goes way deeper than bubble baths and long lunches with loved ones.

But while we explore the “doing” that is self-care, it can be all to easy to overlook the “being” part of self-compassion – self-kindness.

So I’m delighted to be joined by my guest founder of Kindness for Success coaching and consulting Kim Stokes to examine the difference between self-care and self-kindness.

Kim shares her metamorphosis story from anxiety and corporate burnout to discovering that “we can’t be kind to others sustainably if we’re not kind to ourselves”.

We explore how being unkind to ourselves manifests itself – from our inner critic’s harsh words to not identifying and nurturing our needs.

Tune in too for insights and Kim’s top tips for how we can start being kinder to ourselves.

And Kim gives details of how she is marking Mental Health Awareness Week with her #24forKindness 24-hour broadcast in aid of Mind on May 11th and 12th.

  • How to be Honest in Midlife with Guest Susanna Reay
    Apr 30 2026

Join the Midlife Unlimited® conversation by sending Kate a text

I don't often "do" days, but there's a day allotted to April 30th - the day this episode airs - that piqued my interest. It's National Honesty Day.

Which made me think of the seeming battle cry flooding my socials - that Midlife is our time to start giving zero f..ks!

No more bubble-wrapping how we're really feeling. No sugar-coating. No holding back...

But does telling the truth come at a price? And does the odd white lie have its uses?

To explore this conundrum, I'm delighted to be joined by my guest Authority Architect and founder of Framework Thinking® Susanna Reay.

We discuss how honesty is two-fold - how we are with others, and (more importantly) with ourselves. And we explore the difference between being honest and not lying.

Susanna explains how she is benefiting from being more honest with herself and others, and we share our insights and top tips for how to be honest in our second chapter.
