• Dave Austin - An Internationally Renowned Coach's Extraordinary NDE. Part 2
    Jun 5 2026
Send us Fan MailWhat if a single moment could completely change the way you see life, death and your own purpose? In this powerful two-part conversation, internationally renowned performance coach, bestselling author and former world-ranked tennis player Dave Austin shares the extraordinary experiences and insights that have shaped his life and work.Known around the world for helping elite athletes, business leaders and high achievers perform under pressure, Dave has spent decades exploring the relationship between the mind, resilience and human potential. But behind his success lies a deeply personal story that few people know.In these episodes, Dave speaks openly about his own near-death experience (NDE) and the profound impact it had on his understanding of consciousness, fear, love and what it truly means to be alive. He reflects on how this experience transformed not only his outlook on life, but also the way he coaches others to move beyond limitation and embrace their fullest potential.Joining Dave for this conversation is holistic funeral director and end-of-life practitioner Holly Lyon-Hawk, whose work supporting people and families through death offers a unique perspective on many of the themes explored.Together they discuss the following:Dave's remarkable near-death experience. The lessons he brought back from the edge of life.Fear, courage and the psychology of resilience. How confronting mortality can transform the way we live. The connections between performance, purpose and spirituality. Why some of life's greatest awakenings come through our darkest moments. This is not simply a conversation about death. It is a conversation about living with greater awareness, gratitude and authenticity.Whether you are interested in personal growth, high performance, spirituality, near-death experiences or the deeper questions of human existence, these two episodes offer a fascinating and deeply moving exploration of what may lie beyond our ordinary understanding.A rare opportunity to hear one of America's most respected coaches speak candidly about the experience that changed his life forever.About the HostHolly Lyon-Hawk is a holistic funeral director, ceremonial care of the body specialist, end-of-life doula, educator, speaker and founder of the International Institute for Supported Ceremonial Care. For over a decade, Holly has walked alongside hundreds of families as they faced death, grief and profound change. Her work has taken her into homes, hospices, hospitals, woodlands and natural burial grounds, helping people rediscover something that modern society has often forgotten - that death does not have to be hidden away, feared or rushed through. She believes that ritual matters. That caring for the body after death can be a final act of love. That grief deserves space. And that when we are willing to look mortality in the eye, life itself becomes richer, deeper and infinitely more precious. On No One Gets Out of Here Alive, Holly brings together honest conversations about death, dying, grief, spirituality, love, purpose and what it truly means to be alive. Through interviews, stories and reflections from her own work, she explores the questions we often avoid but that connect every one of us.Whether you're caring for someone at the end of life, grieving a loss, working in healthcare, or simply curious about the human experience, this podcast offers a gentle place to reflect, learn and remember that none of us walks this path alone. The reality that no one gets out of here alive isn't a reason for despair. Having cared lovingly for her own father before and after he died, Claire understood the benefits and deepest healing experience creating a home funeral "only with love" can bring. In this episode, we hear from Claire, MBE, founder of Only With Love; we hear about her work and her story. We see the accessibility to being vulnerable, and it’s okay to feel a certain way and to feel able to be honest about the support that is needed when going through this time. For more information see the link below for her website: https://www.onlywithlove.co.uk/
