Burnout healing is a complex process, and it helps me to picture PDA individuals as tightrope walkers whose safety net is damaged and broken. In order to safely walk again, we desperately need a proper net underneath.

“Rebuilding the net” is a concept I have used to troubleshoot the many angles that PDA people need support in order to discover their best selves.

This week’s live is directed at complications surrounding raising PDA kids alongside siblings (who may or may not be PDA as well!)

As a PDA parent with three PDA boys, Brook talks about:

    Complaints of unfairness
Discerning if other siblings might also be PDA with a different presentation
    Handling conflicts safely
Creating a culture of equity to diffuse tensions

  • Episode 6: "They said what?!" How to handle our kids saying awkward things

In this episode I talk about how PDA can say or do shocking or provocative things when in distress. Many parents panic and feel ashamed, but I help break down how to best view these behaviours and help resolve them in a supportive way.

I am trying to find out more about PDA as my asd diagnosed daughter I strongly suspect has it and none of the parent guides of how to parent asd are working for us. I literally read them and am like no way will she accept this. I have found PDA only just coming more spoken about and this is great to get a first hand experience being talked about, it's great to understand from someone living it how I can in turn help my child.
