This beloved Carmelite prayer is traditionally attributed to St. John of the Cross, Doctor of the Church and one of the greatest mystics of the Christian tradition.

Written in the language of love, surrender, and union with God, the prayer expresses the soul’s complete trust in the Divine Will and its longing to belong entirely to Christ.
