Outer Dark, is a deeply unsettling Southern Gothic fable set in an impoverished, timeless Appalachian wilderness. The story begins with a grim act of sin and concealment: siblings Culla and Rinthy Holme have a child together in total isolation. Immediately following the birth, a guilt-ridden Culla takes the newborn into the woods and abandons it to the elements, later telling a devastated Rinthy that the baby died of natural causes and was buried. However, a wandering tinker secretly rescues the crying infant. When Rinthy discovers a shallow, empty grave, she realizes her brother lied and that her child is still alive, prompting her to set out on a solitary, desperate quest across a hostile landscape to find the tinker and reclaim her baby.Copyright MY Podcast Stream Art Drama & Plays Literary History & Criticism
