About this listen
On this episode of the DEADLOCK Podcast, we take a look back at the re-launching of WCW's Saturday Night show, which is now being called, of course, WCW Saturday Night! This "new" show debuted it's new branding on April 4th, 1992.
Hosted by Jim Ross & Jesse Ventura (for this week), we get a look at WCW's new idea for this show, which involves more of a talk-show feeling to it, as Jim Ross & Jesse Ventura take us through the show by not only showing us matches, but conducting interviews along the way. On this show, you'll see the WCW Light Heavyweight Champion, Brian Pillman, take on Brad Armstrong. We also get a chance to see the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin, take on the duo of Diamond Dallas Page & Cactus Jack in a match to get them prepared for their Tag Team Title match next week.
We'll also find out about the personal & professional life of Ron Simmons, who is looking to become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, which is currently held by Sting, and being hunted down by Big Van Vader & his manager, Harley Race.
In the main event, "Stunning" Steve Austin, accompanied by Paul E. Dangerously (Paul Heyman) defends the WCW Television Championship against The Z-Man in a 2 out of 3 Falls match.
All of that, and much more, on this week's DEADLOCK Podcast!
