The Total Person — Episode 7
Leadership in the storm gets real in a place people don’t love talking about: when leaders crack.
You know that moment. You finish a long day and sit in the car a second longer than you need to — not because you’re lazy, but because you’re trying to collect yourself before you walk back into your life. Your phone is still lighting up. Your mind is still running. Your body never fully came down. And you think, “I’m supposed to be the steady one.”
In this episode, I talk about what it actually looks like when leaders break — not always in one loud collapse, but in a slow bend. It leaks out through your tone, your patience, your sleep, your chest tightening when the next problem lands. You can still perform, still show up, still get it done… while quietly falling apart inside.
THE REAL CAUSELeaders don’t break because they care — they break because they carry too much alone for too long. And if you lead at work and then lead at home, the weight doubles. Parenting counts. Home counts. The kitchen and bedtime moments count just as much as the office.
🟤 ROUND TABLEStop treating breaking like a personal failure. Most of the time it’s load without support. Rebuilding doesn’t happen through tougher masks or tighter control. It happens through honesty, boundaries, and letting support back in — before you hit the edge.
IN THIS EPISODE- What leadership breaking looks like in real life (irritation, avoidance, control, resentment, guilt)
- Why “being the strong one” can turn into a trap
- How pressure leaks into parenting and relationships
- Why control keeps you functional but cuts you off from recovery
- The rebuild: support, honesty, and a load that matches real life
- Where are you carrying too much alone?
- Who’s still close enough to tell you the truth about how you’re doing?
- What weight are you ready to stop carrying by yourself?
