Derek Hansen is an international sports performance consultant and educator. He has worked for over 30 years as a sprint coach and has been consulting with professional teams (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, Bundesliga), national team organizations (Olympics and World Championships) and collegiate athletic programs (NCAA) for over 25 years. Derek specializes in speed development, strategic performance planning, return-to-play protocols and electrical stimulation technologies. We cover all of the complexities of today’s basketball landscape and Mike offers his thoughts on how to give players the best chance of success at any level. Mike Robertson is one of the most well-known coaches, consultants, speakers and writers in the fitness industry today. Known for his “no-nonsense” approach to coaching and program design, Mike has made a name for himself as a go-to resource for professional athletes from every major sport, but especially in the world of basketball. Mike is the President of Robertson Training Systems and the co-owner of Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training (IFAST) in Indianapolis, Indiana. IFAST has been named one of the Top 10 Gyms in America by Men’s Health magazine three times in the past six years.     In Episode 004 of the Speed of Life Podcast, we speak with Rob Panariello about the rising number of injuries in professional sports and what can be done to reverse the trend. After having served in the NFL as a Director of Health, Performance and Innovation, he has first-hand experience in dealing with the extreme demands of professional football. We discuss the physical preparation of athletes in the off-seasons, as well as the key issues around the successful rehabilitation of athletes year round. We also discuss the evasive topic of “injury prevention” and whether or not we truly have control over the prevention of injury in today’s dynamic, explosive and closely monitored domain.

    Rob Panariello is a former NFL Team Director of Health, Performance, and Innovation, as well as the Co-Founder, Former CEO, Chief Clinical Officer and Board of Directors member for Professional PT. Rob graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in both Physical Therapy and Physical Education/Athletic Training. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from Queens College. He is a licensed Physical Therapist, NATA Certified Athletic Trainer and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is internationally renowned in the field of Sports Medicine Rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning. Rob lectures nationally on these topics and has over 60 peer reviewed publications. Rob received the prestigious National Strength and Conditioning Association President’s Award in 1998 and was elected to the USA Strength and Conditioning Hall of Fame in 2003.

Luka is the founder and co-owner of the Vigor Ground gym in Ljubljana, Slovenia and owner of the Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance in Seattle, WA, both gyms recognized as leaders in coaching in each respective country, where they have cumulatively coached and transformed over 8,000 clients in total since 2006. Luka is also the creator of Vigor Ground Fitness and Business Summit, one of the industries most respected educational events for coaches and gym owners. He has personally coached over 3,000 clients from the highest level professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, UFC, MLB college and high school, rehab patients with many different types of injuries/conditions, and clients from every walk of life looking to achieve looking, feeling, and performing better.
