What do you do when everything seems to be going wrong in your life?
Habakuk sees everything going wrong for his culture. He sees a military threat coming — disaster is coming for his nation. He cries out to God. He is honest before God and he is also realistic. He sees terrible times full of trouble and disaster and he can’t understand why God would allow it.
But he closes his lament with the words “you will live forever.” He recognizes that it is not for us to determine why God allows certain things to happen, but to steward the time we have well, no matter the circumstances. Listen to what it means to truly see that we have a God of grace.
