Today we remember the Synaxis of the Saints of Vladimir, a gathering of many holy men and women who lived in and around Vladimir, Russia. This feast was established in 1982 and honors martyrs, monks, nuns, hierarchs, princes, princesses, and righteous fools for Christ who all witnessed to their faith in different ways. We also commemorate Saint Etheldreda of Ely, though little information is available about her, and Martyr Agrippina of Rome. Agrippina bravely confessed Christ during persecution under Emperor Valerian and suffered greatly for her faith before passing into eternal life.
