Welcome to Terry Roseland podcast — the most authentic podcast in Chicago. This is where the streets meets the college kids and we all kick it together. With our endless topics such as “Caught Cheating,” we pin point situations and stories ranging from people running out of hotels naked as of results of getting caught to a broad spectrum of mental health conversations. This podcast discusses it ALL. We’re all about hearing different perspectives, learning from and being enlightened by one another.

Meet the hosts: Terry Roseland is a Chicago kid who grew up in the hood, Roseland to be exact! But that didn’t make him who he was! A popular young man who attended Simeon; he knows people from all different backgrounds, giving him the advantage to relate to those who are not like him, but not much different either. Terry wouldn’t consider himself to be hellbent on education but he surely stuck it out and got that degree! Terry displays that you can overcome your obstacles by any means, getting out of life what you truly know you deserve! Trouble tried to grasp Terry but he came out on top! His life’s ups and downs make it easier to talk to him because he is truly one of the funniest, bluntest and most importantly, non-judgmental people you will ever meet! And saying all of that goes on to say, Terry isn’t much different than Kam!

Kam is also a Chicago native, from the south side, who attended Brooks College Prep! Mostly popular for her singing, it’s not ironic that she stands on letting her voice be heard! And she’s definitely a true socialite as well! She tends to relate to everyone, being from a place that will swallow you if you let it! But she always knew she would never allow that to overtake the power she knew she had to be great! She is super humorous, relatable and keeps it real! Nothing is standing in the way of these two as they utilize this podcast to gain an ear from people of all backgrounds, shades and genders! Nothing on this podcast will go unsaid so tune in to her a solid women’s and men’s perspective on all the wild things that happen in life!!

Cheating arguments get messy fast because everyone wants a clean rule for a problem that lives in gray areas. We start with the uncomfortable question: where does betrayal really begin? Not just sex, but the moment you’re flirting on purpose, enjoying the attention, and pretending it’s “just conversation.” We talk about patience inside relationships, the way people stereotype femininity and sensitivity, and whether “masculine” automatically means stoic or if emotional honesty can coexist with strength.

Then we get into the real meat: boundaries. We compare “inappropriate” vs “cheating,” test the idea of “if you wouldn’t do it in my face, it counts,” and walk through scenarios like reacting to DMs, texting with an ex, exchanging numbers, and building a long message thread that feels innocent until it doesn’t. We also dig into transparency and overthinking, why therapy can help you trust yourself, and how compatibility often comes down to what you both agree is acceptable.

The conversation widens into anti racism and culture, plus a sociology lens that ties everything together: behavior settings, place identity, and place attachment. If environments can pull different behavior out of the same person, what does that mean for how we judge people, and how we design solutions? We end with a vision for changing outcomes by changing settings, and we shout out Capture for anyone who wants to be present at events without juggling a phone.

  • First Degree Racism?
    Jun 14 2026

We start with a real story about being a kid who feels unsafe at school and how fear can push you into carrying something that changes your life. We break down two cases where “self-defense” gets complicated fast, then zoom out to talk survival mode, the legal system, and what accountability looks like when the game is not fair.
    • a childhood moment that explains why kids make risky choices
    • what self-defense means in court versus in culture
    • the Karmelo Anthony case and how “premeditation” gets argued
    • why carrying a weapon changes how the law reads your decisions
    • the Cyrus case and why shooting someone in the back breaks the logic of threat
    • how prosecutors, plea deals, and missing lesser charges shape outcomes
    • survival mode, environment, and the pressure of the hood
    • tailoring your reality through circles, routines, and opportunity
    • why growth can be lonely and why that can be healthy
    • learning your family history to strengthen identity and purpose
    • practical advice for boy moms about getting a driver’s license early
    • raising standards in business through real customer service

  • It’s about the principle!
    Jun 7 2026

We challenge the way we claim “principles” while cutting people off for small personal slights and giving a pass to bigger moral red flags. We sort out what our core values actually are, how accountability should work in friendships, and where loyalty quietly turns into enabling.
    • principles versus preferences in friendships
    • money disputes and “it’s the principle” logic
    • political and social beliefs as real dealbreakers
    • core values as actions not slogans
    • discipline integrity and loyalty in relationships
    • accountability versus judgment and why we confuse them
    • loyalty that tells the truth privately
    • enabling that blocks consequences and protects patterns
    • friendship seasons and what growth changes
    • parenting standards including consent and fairness
    • faith doubt and making room for hard questions
    • celebrity culture fandom and consuming public self-destruction
