    Rain, wind and wet roads for the AM commute • Tracking scattered light showers this morning for portions of the area. • Wet or damp roads are expected for the heart of the morning commute. • Showers will stream off the Atlantic, especially south of Jacksonville. • Showers will also move from southwest to northeast across inland neighborhoods. • Winds will be out of the northeast at 15-20 mph. o Gusts to 40-45 mph expected along the immediate coastline. • Rough ocean conditions with seas of 8-11 feet (+) • High surf at local beaches. o Surf: 7-11 ft (+) o High rip current risk o Best advice is to stay out of the water for the rest of this week as higher surf continues. • Highest rainfall totals over the next 48 hours will be along the coast, especially St. Johns county. o Rainfall could exceed 1-1.5+ inches through Tuesday. • Temperatures held to the upper 60s to lower 70s through Thursday. • Coverage of the rain lightens up by Thursday and especially Friday. • The weekend will be dry with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.     Tracking rain and wind increasing • This morning is mainly dry for the AM commute with only an isolated shower. • A cold front is moving through the area early this morning. • Scattered showers will redevelop through the day near and north of I-10. • Winds will pick up out of the northeast at 15-20 mph with gusts to 25-30 mph this afternoon, especially along the coast. • Scattered showers will slowly sink south through the late afternoon and evening. • Rain and wind continue overnight and into Tuesday. • Highest rainfall totals over the next 48 hours will be along the coast, especially St. Johns county. o Rainfall could exceed 1-1.5+ inches through Tuesday. • Winds will be gusting to 40+ mph along the coast Tuesday and Wednesday. o 20-30 mph gusts inland • Rough seas/surf up and down the coast for much of this week. • Temperatures held to the upper 60s to lower 70s through Thursday. • Where drought is the worst (toward I-75), rainfall amounts will be the least (less than 0.25").     A few inland showers/storms, Warm Easter weekend • We are waking up to temperatures in the 60s this morning. • Some patchy inland fog possible this morning. • The morning commute will be mainly dry. o An isolated shower is possible along the coast. • An isolated midday inland moving shower will develop today for Jacksonville. • A few showers and storms are possible along and west of Highway 301 to I-75 mid to late afternoon. o Main threats: heavy (much needed) rain and embedded lightning. o Jacksonville and local beaches will see a dry evening commute. • Highs today in the lower 80s. • High rip current risk at area beaches. • The Easter weekend will be warm with many dry hours.
