About this listen
How we represent our cultural group, our country, and our faith matters. The Collective is back again to discuss Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance that divided parts of Christendom, and give us a pathway for how we should we respond when our own “group” is not represented in cultural celebrations. Turning to the Winter Olympics and NBA All-Star weekend, we discuss why “USA v. The World” ignites a little bit of patriotism in all of us. Finally, they reflect on the recent racist depictions of the Obama’s posted by President Donald Trump and the life and legacy of Jesse Jackson Jr. Two figures who have represented their faith in drastically different ways. The Collective help us discern how to address racism in the world without letting it distract us from the good work we have been called to do.
