The Gobful is a (mostly) poetry podcast interviewing poets and writers who have previously been guest readers at the Gobshite Spoken Word Open Mic held at the The Golden Lion in Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
In this episode, we talk to Elizabeth Gobson who is a queer, neurodivergent poet from Wigan, living in Manchester, whose debut collection is A love the weight of an animal (Confingo, 2025). Poems have appeared in Atrium, Banshee, Butcher's Dog, Dust, fourteen poems, Lighthouse, Magma, The North, and Under the Radar. Elizabeth has been the recipient of a New North Poets Prize from the Northern Writers Awards and The Poetry School and a Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England and is currently completing an MA in Creative Writing at Manchester Writing School at MMU.
