Today I reveal five photographers who have influenced my work the most over the years, photographers I return to time and time again for inspiration. These are William Eggleston, Tierney Gearon, Gregory Crewdson, Nan Goldin, and Dianna Cuaulte. Each informs my work in different ways. They teach me to capture what is around me for both the mundane and those I love, to find depth through the stories our subjects reveal, and to not overthink the work.

Today I add no intro or outro music. Today I spend time reflecting on my own experience, my own reaction, to the emerging crisis that could end in a global crisis, a war. I express my own reactions to what is happening and to come. I ponder how art, photography, is playing a role in how I cope and push through the apathy taking hold on society. Today, I push through another day when everything around demands I turn in and give way.

Connection Full Circle:

Today, I share a recent discussion I had with a friend over coffee. In our conversation, we discussed the importance of connection and considered how, as a whole, we have become more isolated as individuals. It became apparent how current political events, social media, and even Ai, have all led to deep isolation and disconnection, even when social media has promised more. At the end of today's episode, I share several ways I am shifting my approach in an effort to strengthen my social circle, especially with the use of art as a form of self-expression and togetherness.
