Episode Description: The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 47 - It Tastes Like Chicken with Keith Morris

What happens when real life stories meet road-tested faith and live music ministry? This episode answers that question.

Kevin, Carlos, and Dave sit down with Keith Morris, lead singer of Heaven's Thunder Band, the group they call the Mountain's House Band. Keith shares how he first discovered Christian music and how that experice set him on a path into music and worship ministry. His story is honest, personal, and easy to connect with.

The conversation also gives a look into his life as a Christian musician and reveals the heart behind his worship. You will hear how God used simple things to shape a calling that now reaches people across the region.

Heaven's Thunder Band continues to play a key role on the Mountain. A stripped-down acoustic team from the band will lead worship at SonRise Over Laurel Mountain, a community outdoor Easter Sunrise Service. The service begins at 7:00 am and ends at 8:00 am so you can still attend your home church Easter service.

In this episode of The Mountain Experience Podcast, we talk with Christian author and speaker Tracy Harper about her book From Him, Not Them: A Young Woman's Guide to Relying on God for Validation, Identity, and Guidance. Tracy is a 2026 Selah Award finalist, and her message speaks directly to a generation searching for identity, direction, and worth. This conversation tackles a real struggle. Many of us look to people, success, or feelings to define who we are. We chase approval. We measure ourselves by what others think. We try to prove our value. Yet the harder we chase, the more confused and exhausted we become. Tracy shares her own story with honesty. After a painful breakup, she searched for worth in achievement, appearance, and approval. That path led her into an eating disorder and deeper questions about identity. Over the past twenty years, she has mentored young Christian women who ask the same questions. Where do I belong? Who am I really? Does my identity come from others or from God? Her book offers a clear, Christ-centered answer. It points young women back to God as the true source of validation, identity, and guidance. In this episode, you will hear: • Why approval-based identity drains your strength • How feelings can mislead your direction • The hidden cost of people-pleasing and self-reliance • How to walk in step with the Spirit instead of chasing outcomes • Practical help for teens, college students, and the women who guide them If you are a young woman, a parent, a mentor, or a ministry leader, this conversation will give you tools you can use right away. It will also help you lead others toward a steady identity in Christ. From Him, Not Them is more than a book. It is a roadmap for anyone who feels lost, pressured, or unsure of their worth. It speaks to real struggles like insecurity, anxiety, and comparison, and it offers a better way forward grounded in truth and grace. Learn more about Tracy Harper and her ministry at https://tracyharperwrites.com/ If you are looking for Christian guidance on identity in Christ, or you want to encourage a young woman in your life, this episode will point you in the right direction. True security does not come from them. It comes from Him.

The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 44. - I Throw a Sheet Over My Head and Then I pray

On this episode of The Mountain Top Experience Podcast, hosts Kevin, Carlos, and Dave sit down with singer-songwriter David Saul for an honest and heartfelt conversation about faith, struggle, and surrender.

With refreshing transparency, David shares the story behind the unusual title, "I Throw a Sheet Over My Head and Then I Pray." What began as a simple, private way to block out distractions became a powerful symbol of his need to meet God in the middle of confusion, discouragement, and unanswered questions. David opens up about seasons of hardship, the doubts he wrestled with, and the lessons he learned about trusting God when clarity did not come quickly.

The conversation moves beyond testimony into calling. David talks about how those difficult seasons shaped his music ministry and deepened his understanding of worship. Rather than writing from a place of theory, his songs are born from lived experience. He explains how pain refined his voice, strengthened his message, and gave authenticity to the music he now shares with others.

Kevin, Carlos, and Dave guide the discussion into the practical side of walking through hard times. What does faith look like when prayers seem delayed? How do we remain grounded when circumstances feel unstable? David reflects on how he learned to keep showing up before God, even when he did not feel strong. His story reminds listeners that growth often comes through seasons we would never choose.

The episode concludes with a special moment as David Saul performs an original worship song live on the show. The performance captures the heart of the conversation and leaves listeners with a reminder that worship is not reserved for mountaintop victories alone. It can rise from valleys, questions, and quiet moments under a simple sheet where a believer chooses to pray.

If you have ever walked through a season that tested your faith, this episode will encourage you. Join us for a conversation about perseverance, worship, and finding God in unexpected places.

The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 43. - Peacemaker not a Peacekeeper

In this special episode of The Mountain Experience Podcast, the roles are reversed as host Dave Johnson steps into the guest seat alongside his wife, Gail Johnson. Kevin and Carlos lead the conversation as they announce the launch of Laurel Mountain Media, the new publishing arm of Laurel Mountain Ministries created to share biblically grounded studies, devotionals, and faith-based resources with a wider audience.

The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 42 - God Is Like Sushi with Georgette Beck

In Episode 42 of The Mountain Top Experience Podcast, hosts Kevin, Carlos, and Dave sit down with author, coach, and speaker Georgette Beck for an honest and hope-filled conversation about loss, healing, and unexpected purpose.

Titled "God Is Like Sushi," this episode explores how Georgette's painful divorce became a turning point rather than an ending. Through the trauma of brokenness, God reshaped her life and opened doors to ministry that never would have existed otherwise. What once felt unusable became the place where grace, empathy, and calling grew.

Georgette shares how her second chance was formed not in spite of her pain, but through it. Her story is one of redemption, resilience, and learning to trust God with the unfamiliar places He leads us. Just like sushi, what first feels uncomfortable or unexpected at the thought of consuming raw fish can become something nourishing and life-giving when we're willing to receive it.

This episode will encourage anyone walking through transition, heartbreak, or the uncertainty that follows major life change. It's a reminder that God does not waste wounds and that new purpose often rises from places we never planned to visit.
