The style and scale of a sign gives a storefront that unique New York City look. And in a time when it seems like the whole world is going digital, Noble Signs sticks to old-school practices of making handmade signs at their studio in Brooklyn and preserving the artform through the New York Sign Museum.

Last year, I got to chat with Noble Sign’s co-founder David Barnett about New York City sign art, what goes into saving signs for the museum, and how they’re working to keep signmaking alive in the digital age.
