Debuting in World Championship Wrestling in September of 1997 as a glowering muscleman who smashed the likes of Hugh Morris, The Barbarian, and Road Block before shrugging off “Mean” Gene Okerlund, Goldberg quickly became a phenomenon, winning the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship before the conclusion of his rookie year, riding a once-in-a-lifetime wave of momentum garnered by his undefeated streak.
