Episode 128 – Safety & Predictability, Control, Choice & Agency

The last 4 weeks of our lives here in Abu Dhabi have been interesting to say the least. Being under constant threat from Iranian missiles and hearing the loud "booms" of the interceptors taking care of them has been like nothing I have experienced before.

Living in this state of unrest really got me thinking about what we take for granted – the feeling of safety and predictability in our everyday lives and being able to live with a sense of control, choice and agency.

I also know that this is not the case for many of my patients.

Living in a constant state of fear or anxiety with little predictability of the environment and/or social relationships can be hugely debilitating and will affect quality of life, wellbeing and welfare.

There are some really easy ways to introduce more of these important welfare factors into your pets' and patients' lives and I chat you through some of my favourite ways of doing so.

All it takes is to make some small changes to implement these foundational needs!

Episode 127 – 15-minute Speed Coaching with Dr Julie Liu

Welcome to another 15-minute Speed Coaching Session for Veterinary and Pet Care Professionals!

The rules of the game are as follows:

    · Episodes will be in-the-moment, off-the-cuff and unscripted.

    · Coaching sessions will be 15 Minutes MAXIMUM, so wherever we finish, we finish…

    · Which means that we might not find complete resolution to your question, but we will certainly get the thought process started!

In this episode, I chat to US veterinarian, Dr Julie Liu, about one of my favourite topics – Inter-Cat Aggression or Inter-Cat Tension and what we can do if management such as strict separation of the cats is not possible.

Have a listen as we chat through some unique management options, especially if space is restricted and how to balance all elements of the Veterinary Behaviour Treatment Plan in order to get the best outcomes for these patients.

Episode 126 – The Trinity Treatment Plan Template

I created this Treatment Plan Template to help keep me focused and organized during consultations and to ensure that I didn't miss a thing when writing my comprehensive report for my caregivers.

Based on the "7 M" approach to creating Veterinary Behaviour Treatment Plans, this template covers all the bases, ensures you don't overwhelm caregivers with too much information while still providing a comprehensive treatment strategy.

I love resources like this one and I wish I had had it sooner, for example during my residency when I was often seeing 3 initial consultations per day and was sometimes overwhelmed with all the information to remember and digest!

You can find the Trinity Treatment Plan Template in a number of different places:

    1. As part of the "Designing a beautiful Veterinary Behaviour Treatment Plan" Masterclass right here:

    https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/treatment-plans

    2. As part of the "Professional Guides" E-Book right here:

    https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/trinity-ebook

    3. As part of The Behaviour Case Collective Membership right here:

    https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/behaviour-case-collective

I really hope you find this resource as useful as I do!
