In the summer of 2013, Luna visits an antique dealer in Loblolly, Alabama, who tells her about a wardrobe he bought at auction. Inside was a girl's porcelain doll collection—and the dolls seemed to remember things. The dealer begins to notice that the dolls move when he isn't looking, their painted eyes tracking him from the shelves. When he finds a note hidden in one doll's dress, written in a child's hand, he realizes the dolls are guarding a secret. Luna examines the wardrobe herself and feels a cold draft from inside, as if the wood is breathing.
