About this listen

She’s narrated dozens of spicy romances, but nothing prepared her for weaponizing the “forced proximity” trope in real life. One meddling sister, one hot neighbor, and a whole lot of cheese dip. Welcome to the romcom multiverse.

It's Romcom meets meta-fiction, with a wink at Hallmark-style setups and a dash of Gen-Z snark. Think To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before meets Emily Henry by way of Fleabag.

  • Format: 9 episodes, 20-30 minutes each.
  • Style: Narration and full cast dialogue: Shannon’s voiceover frames each episode (like a narrator from inside a romcom), while scenes unfold cinematically in audio

  • 09. Power, Pettiness, or Passion: A Choice (Season 1 Finale)
    Mar 19 2026

In the season finale of The Romcom Formula, Claire and Tony face their biggest challenge yet: how to make love work when they’re miles apart. After months of long-distance emails and missed connections, Tony’s long-awaited trip to New York brings the truth to light — and it’s not the fairy-tale ending Claire imagined.

As Tony reveals his plans to stay in Nashville permanently, Claire must decide what matters most: power, pettiness, or passion. With help (and tough love) from her meddling sister Shannon, she begins to accept that not every romance follows the formula — but that doesn’t mean the story’s over.

From breakup voodoo curses and volcanic cocktails to confessions in the rain, this finale delivers the signature Romcom Formula mix of heart, humor, and hope. Because even when the tropes don’t go as planned, real love has a way of rewriting the script.

  • 08. Bring the Heat But Hold the Jalapeños
    Mar 12 2026

Just when things were heating up between Claire and Tony, life cranks up the drama. Their New York whirlwind comes to a screeching halt when Tony’s daughter, Dominique, is injured in an accident. He rushes to Nashville—and Claire soon follows, armed with groceries, empathy, and questionable jalapeño-handling skills.

Between doctor updates, spicy taco mishaps, and big career decisions, Claire and Tony face their first real test as a couple. When Claire drops the bomb that she’s accepted a new job in New York, they decide to keep their spark alive—no matter the miles between them.

Meanwhile, Shannon and Brian get all the messy, hilarious details—including Claire’s accidental spicy mishap.

By the end of the episode, Claire’s starting her new job, Tony’s staying close to Dominique, and Shannon’s wondering if even the best romcom formulas can handle a long-distance relationship.

  • The "D" Stands for Dating
    Mar 5 2026

Shannon can hardly contain herself when she discovers that Claire and Tony are both in New York at the same time. Surely, it’s fate… or maybe just excellent plotting. While Claire insists she’s only there for a job interview, Shannon and Brian turn their kitchen into a romcom command center, launching a full-on “Cyrano de Bergerac” texting operation to secretly feed Tony romantic suggestions.

Meanwhile, Claire and Tony take on the city: ice cream at Serendipity, people-watching in Central Park, and a fateful detour to—wait for it—the Museum of Sex. Between novelty desserts and not-so-subtle flirting, the chemistry is undeniable.

By the end of the night, they haven’t labeled it—but the air between them is basically humming with possibility.
