About this listen

We're two Midwestern therapists that tell it like it is. Our podcast focuses on topics we find interesting, while tying it back to mental health and our own clinical experience. We know therapy can be intimidating and scary, but it doesn't have to be. We know it's important to show up authentically in order to build the strongest relationships with our clients. And this podcast is no different. We hope you learn something new while we keep it real and totally unfiltered.

  • 24: EMDR with Katrina Serfling
    Feb 15 2026

In this episode, we're joined by Katrina Serfling, LMHC, NCC, EMDR certified consultant, and supervisor and owner of Human to Human Counseling in Des Moines, IA. Katrina shares her perspective on EMDR, how it's used by therapists, her work with clients, and some personal anecdotes. While EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) has risen in popularity in the past decade, there's good reason for that.

In this episode we talk all about mental health in the workplace: the good, the bad, but especially the toxic work environments. We talk about the themes we see with clients in difficult work situations, as well as how to know if the job you're thinking about taking has a healthy (or not) culture.
