Today we remember Virgin Martyr Febronia of Nisibis, who lived during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. Raised in a monastery in Assyria, she was known for her strict monastic life and deep faith. Despite severe torture, she remained steadfast in her confession of Christ. Febronia’s story includes the conversion of a pagan widow named Hieria and the eventual baptism of soldiers who witnessed her courage. Her martyrdom inspired many, and her relics became a source of miracles and healing.
