    Sep 28 2025

On June 30, 1989 Kelle Ann Workman was mowing the Dogwood Cemetery in rural Douglas County when she disappeared. After a week of searching her body was found. While many attempts have been made to uncover the truth, The Webster County Citizen, an independent weekly paper, can be credited with keeping the case in front of the public, informing them of new leads and always demanding justice on behalf of Kelle Ann and her family.

For most of the last 36 years, Dan has been on point for every new lead and June anniversary. Now that it seems justice will finally be served, he opens up to us, offering a frank assessment of the crime, the investigation and ultimately the break that led to the arrest of Kelle Anne’s killers. Hello Folks and welcome to a very special episode of the Wild N Woolly Ozarks

The Wild N Woolly Ozarks is a podcast dedicated to the Ozarks, the land and the people. Here we specialize in stories with the bark on ‘em, we delve into topics best left alone and wander down historical rabbit holes where we sort out myth from history. So what kind of podcast is it? We're not wholly sure. A podcast that gives you the unvarnished backstory? A podcast that wants to talk about Spanish Treasure, Ghosts, monsters, myths and legends? How about Civil War atrocities, true crime from settlement to date and unsolved mysteries that linger? We are all of that so pull up a chair and have a listen.
