Schon seit Tagen geht ein heftiger Sturzregen auf das kleine Nest Ravenport herunter. Die Gullys laufen bereits über und auch etwas anderes sieht die Zeit gekommen, sich einen Weg an die Oberfläche zu bahnen: Riesige, eklige Würmer und kalbgroße Ratten fallen über die Kleinstadtbevölkerung her. Der gerade erst vereidigte Sheriff Ben Stark muss den Widerstand gegen die Bestien aus dem Regen organisieren, wobei sich noch herausstellen muss, ob etwas von Ravenport übrigbleibt, wenn der nächste Morgen dämmert.
