Hassan Nemazee was born in 1950 in Washington D.C. He attended Harvard College, graduating with honors in 1972. He moved to Iran, forging joint ventures with many prestigious American and British companies. In 1978, during the Islamist Revolution, he was forced to leave the country. The new regime confiscated the Nemazee family’s assets, homes, businesses, and charities. Returning to the United States, he rebuilt his life. His new businesses flourished, and he welcomed three children.

The primary purpose of this book is to make a passionate but practical appeal to the reasonable, to the rational, to the righteous, and even to the radical and racist, to reconsider the error of their ways regarding a host of pertinent issues facing 21st-century United States of America.

Henry Gerber was the father of American gay liberation. Born in 1892 in Germany, Henry Gerber was expelled from school as a boy and lost several jobs as a young man because of his homosexual activities. He emigrated to the United States and enlisted in the army for employment. After his release, he explored Chicago’s gay subculture: cruising Bughouse Square, getting arrested for “disorderly conduct,” and falling in love.

Joining us at Audible Studios is high profile human rights and civil liberties barrister Leslie Thomas QC. Thomas was called to the bar in 1988 and has represented some very high-profile cases, including families of the Hillsborough disaster, the family of Mark Duggan, whose death sparked the 2011 London riots, and more recently, the families of the victims of Grenfell Tower. It's clear that Thomas has a passion for supporting the voiceless and vulnerable, and is an expert in claims against the police and other public authorities.
