Author Emericus Durden has developed the first comprehensively new approach to occult theory and practice in more than 50 years. As the human form, generally, corresponds to the human will, generally, so the individual bodily structure corresponds to the character, desires, will, and thought of the individual. Therefore the outer nature is nothing but the expression of the inner nature. This inner nature of each individual is what re-incarnates or expresses itself successively in various forms, one after another. When a man dies the individual ego or Jîva (as it is called in Sanskrit), which means the germ of life or the living soul of man, is not destroyed, but it continues to exist in an invisible form.

The soul must be eternal. Why? In the first place we see that the soul is not matter. It is neither a gross body, nor a fine body, which we call mind or thought. It is neither a physical body, nor what in Christianity is called a spiritual body. It is the gross body and the spiritual body that are liable to change. The gross body is liable to change almost every minute and dies, but the spiritual body endures through long periods, until one becomes free, when it also falls away.

This is the message of Shri Ramakrishna to the modern world: “Do not care for doctrines, do not care for dogmas, or sects, or churches, or temples; they count for little compared with the essence of existence in each man which is spirituality; and the more this is developed in a man, the more powerful is he for good. Earn that first, acquire that, and criticize no one, for all doctrines and creeds have some good in them. Show by your lives that religion does not mean words, or names, or sects, but that it means spiritual realization."

I know that my oneness with God gives no recognition to anything unlike God. All that God is I am now consciously aware of being. The love, the beauty, the goodness, and the joy of God fill me to overflowing and find full expression in everything that I do. The peace which is God at the center sustains all spiritual and mental attributes in complete equilibrium within me. Love and wisdom are balanced within me. Beauty and power are unified. Knowingness and understanding maintain my right relationship with those in my world.
