Tout commence pour le mieux : "Arsène Lupin à l'honneur de vous faire part de son mariage avec Mlle Angélique de Sarzeau-Vendôme, princesse de Bourbon-Condé". Plutôt étonnant puisque la jeune princesse n'a jamais vu Arsène Lupin, et son père s'étrangle de rage à la pensée d'une telle union. Quelle est donc la clé de ce mystère ?

Un romanzo complesso in cui Arsenio Lupin interviene solo per sciogliere un enigma che sembrerebbe incomprensibile. Oltre alle vicende misteriose che si intrecciano attorno alle vite di un capitano e di un'infermiera, si tratta di milioni e milioni in oro che vengono trafugati alla Francia. Il ladro gentiluomo, che non ha mai nascosto il suo patriottismo, interverrà in aiuto del suo paese. Il romanzo fu pubblicato in Italia diviso in due volumi: "Il triangolo d'oro" e "La vittoria di Arsenio Lupin".

Maurice Leblanc si cimenta in un romanzo di fantascienza, con eccellenti risultati. Una misteriosa proiezione su un muro mostra eventi della storia passata riprodotti con precisione straordinaria. La scoperta della formula chimica che funge da "ricevitore" è al centro di omicidi e rapimenti. Cornice musicale: Chopin, concerto n. 11.

Maurice Leblanc, creatore del fortunato personaggio di Arsenio Lupin, ha scritto nel 1916-17 questo romanzo a puntate, che fu pubblicato in Italia in due volumi: "Il cerchio rosso" e "Le avventure di Fiorenza". Il romanzo non vede la partecipazione di Lupin. Quello che non manca sono le avventure e la fantasia dello scrittore, che elegge come eroina una donna coraggiosa e generosa che assume il ruolo di "giustiziera" intervenendo, con mezzi non ortodossi, in situazioni in cui la legge ha le mani legate.

Nove episodi in cui Lupin racconta casi misteriosi da lui risolti, e regalati alla sua vecchia conoscenza Ganimard, e casi in cui si rivela ancora una volta il suo spirito di canaglia ribelle ma di cuore.

Quella simpatica canaglia di Arsenio Lupin è qui messo veramente alla prova. Stavolta non sono in palio ricchezze o tesori straordinari, ma solo la possibilità di rendere giustizia ad un innocente e a restituire ad una madre suo figlio. Quando poi questa madre è onesta e affascinante, si capirà Lupin sarà messo alla prova in più di un senso... Immancabili colpi di scena e un avversario veramente formidabile accompagneranno l'ascoltatore fino all'ultimo capitolo, senza un minuto di sosta.

L'autore di questo audiolibro, Maurice Leblanc, ha scritto la fortunata serie di Arsenio Lupin, ma in questo ascolto il ladro gentiluomo fa solo una breve comparsa, mentre la trama si sviluppa autonomamente, tra suggestioni gotiche, superstizioni, fantasmi del passato che perseguitano l'eroina, Veronica, e suo figlio Francesco. Fino alla fine un susseguirsi di colpi di scena, e non manca il consueto gusto umoristico dell'autore. Cornice musicale dello sceneggiato francese del 1979.
