Mallory Pike has always wanted to be a member of the Baby-Sitters Club - they're so much fun to be around, and she's practically a baby-sitter already. Now the club members have invited Mallory to a meeting. This might be her big chance! But the BSC isn't making it easy - they make Mal feel like a baby on a job, and make her take an impossible written test. Mallory's beginning to think she doesn't want to be a part of the BSC...or maybe she and her new friend Jessi should start a club of their own. It's time to show those baby-sitters what a couple of new girls can do!

Stacey starts dating a jock basketball player and falls in with a super-cool crowd, including the cheerleaders who ask her to try out for the squad.

The baby-sitters love getting new clients. So when the Lowells contact the club, everyone is thrilled. For Mary Anne, sitting for the Lowells is a snap, and the kids are adorable and obedient. But when Claudia meets the family, Mrs. Lowell will barely look her in the eye, and the kids are downright rude! The next time Mrs. Lowell calls the BSC, she requests another sitter - anyone but Claudia. Claudia has no idea what she did wrong, but the BSC won't rest until they find out!

U R 2 Nice 2 B 4-Gotten! Some kids (like Hannie) think Amanda is a snob. But Karen doesn't care. She and Amanda are friends. They have lots of fun together, diving for pennies in the pool and dressing up like Lovely Ladies. But now there's bad news! Amanda's family is moving away. Hannie thinks this is funny. But Karen is so sad. How can she say good-bye to one of her best friends?

Claudia's not worried when she hears her newest baby-sitting charge, Betsy, is a great practical joker. After all, how much harm can one girl do? As it turns out - plenty! Claudia breaks her leg because of one of Betsy's mean jokes...and now she's talking about quitting the club. Baby-sitting might be too dangerous. The rest of the BSC decides that Betsy needs to be taught a lesson - and the joke war is on!

Lately, it seems like each of the baby-sitters besides Dawn has been singled out...and she's a little jealous. But now it's Dawn's turn to shine: Mrs. Pike has asked her to help prepare Margo and Claire for the Little Miss Stoneybrook contest! Dawn's going to do everything she can to help her charges win, even if Margo's only talent is peeling a banana with her feet. But then Kristy, Mary Anne, and Claudia are helping Karen, Myriah, and Charlotte enter the contest, too. It's hard to tell whether the competition is fiercer at the pageant - or in the BSC!

Stacey's parents are getting a divorce. Stacey is sad and angry, and she has a big decision to make - stay in New York with her father, or move back to Stoneybrook with her mother.

To a New York City girl like Stacey, the fact that an old - supposedly haunted - house in Stoneybrook is being torn down is no big deal. But then her friend Kristy discovers the house was built on a graveyard, and when Stacey sees a horrible face in one of the windows, she wonders if the house really could be haunted!

Trying to cheer up her twin, Anna, who has been diagnosed with scoliosis, Abby fears that the condition is driving them apart when Anna seems to not want Abby's help and begins to do things on her own.

Kristy's not too happy with some things at Stoneybrook Middle School. The hot lunches, for example, look like dog food, and Mary Poppins is such a babyish choice for their annual play. What the eighth grade really needs is a new class president. Someone who's organized and has great ideas - someone like Kristy! But can Kristy coach a softball team, keep up her grades, baby-sit, run the BSC, and be president? The baby-sitters are about to find out!

Kristy's up for the best spring vacation ever - a week of baseball with famous major leaguers at Bill Bain's Dream Camp. Together with her stepdad, Kristy enjoys the all-star week of a lifetime.

A bunch of kids at Stoneybrook Elementary have pen pals at a school in New Mexico. The baby-sitters love hearing the letters that Charlotte, Becca, and the Pike kids get from their new friends.

Receiving a desperate call from the Mancusi family, Jessi takes on an unusual sitting job caring for three dogs, five cats, two birds, a cage of hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, a snake, rabbits, and turtles.

There's some bad news in the Pike family: Mallory's dad has just lost his job. And since money is going to be tight until Mr. Pike finds a new job, all eight of the Pike kids decide to help out. Nicky gets a paper route, Vanessa tries selling her poetry, and Mallory takes a baby-sitting job in Kristy's ritzy neighborhood. But being around the Delaneys only makes Mallory feel poor. They have a cat that cost $400 and tennis courts in their backyard! Poor Mallory - she needs the Baby-sitters now more than ever!

Mallory and Claudia are helping Stacey unpack from her move back to Stoneybrook when they find an antique trunk in the McGill's attic. Stacey doesn't want the dusty thing, so she gives the trunk to Mallory...who finds an old diary at the bottom of it. The diary belonged to Sophie, a girl who lived in Stacey's house in the 1890s. As Mallory reads deep into Sophie's diary, she discovers a mystery on their hands to solve, because Stacey's house isn't big enough for her, her mom...and a family of ghosts!

Dawn and Mary Anne are finally stepsisters and also roommates. When they begin to get on each other's nerves, Dawn comes up with a solution which pleases everyone.

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle has gone away unexpectedly and left her niece, Missy Piggle-Wiggle, in charge of the Upside-Down House and the beloved animals who live there: Lester the pig, Wag the dog, and Penelope the parrot, among others. Families in town soon realize that like her great-aunt, Missy Piggle-Wiggle has inventive cures for all sorts of childhood (mis)behavior: The Whatever Cure and the Just-a-Minute Cure, for instance. What is a stressed out parent to do? Why, call Missy Piggle-Wiggle, of course!

The baby-sitters are in double trouble when the sponsor for Kristy's softball team, a diaper company, wants to re-name the team "The Davis Diapers", and overbooking on the business end of things makes the club swear in a new member.

When Claudia's wacky Aunt Peaches moves to Stoneybrook, full of fun and expecting a baby, Claudia thinks she will have the time of her life, until one of Peaches's antics gets Claudia in trouble, and a fight ends in tragedy.

Karen will try anything! Karen has new roller skates. She is a very good skater. She can ever do tricks. But oh, no! Karen falls down and breaks her wrist! She has to go to the hospital and get a cast. Karen wants somebody famous to sign her cast. It isn't going to be easy - but Karen won't give up till she gets the job done!
