Moss and the crew are reveling in their recent success when a cryptic message changes everything. Moss enters a virtual realm to recover the message before returning to the real world to find everything has changed. With his friends in peril, he undertakes a rescue mission outside the relative safety of the city.

Hank's Kyrogi crew member spent years fighting in the Clan Wars on his home planet, but he didn't leave the past behind. When an old foe returns, things are further complicated, and Hank finds himself embroiled in problems both personal and political. Just as things seem like they can't get any more fraught, a bounty hunter shows up with information that could jeopardize everything.

Twain has made his move and the invasion has begun. As the Disciples invade many planets in several systems, Hank hopes that the united species will be able to hold out long enough for his counter-attack. The crew go on one last desperate quest to find Twain's location and discover a new way to fight back. But even if they survive, they will need all their friends and allies to bring the fight to Twain. Will Hank and the crew last long enough to stop Twain or will the Enemy AI finally take control of the universe once and for all?

The crew have found Codename: Extinction but destroying it will be no easy matter. The Consortium government are wasting time arguing about what to do next and Hank knows that the only course of action is to take matters into his own hands. But he can't do it alone. In addition to his crew, he will need a larger fighting force. And he knows just where to look. But bringing together disparate rebel sects will be no easy task and even if he does, the ancient enemy has plans of his own.

In the wake of victory, Hank hopes that things will calm down. But by now, he should know better. As the fractured Consortium government scrambles to determine the next course of action, one of the Buzzard's crew vanishes in the night. Did they leave on their own or were they taken? And what does this disappearance portend?

After saving an Inquisitorial Acolyte, Hank must choose what to do next and the decision will have grave ramifications. Knowing that the Acolyte can be a great asset, Hank cautiously agrees to help her in exchange for information and connections. To do so, he is going to need to sneak onto the capitol planet of the Consortium, and that is no easy task. Only with the aid of some underworld connections will Hank be able to achieve his goal.

Moss is in grave danger. The fate of his fight is in peril. With only a computer program in his mind that he does not fully understand and his cunning, Moss must find his way. The journey is fraught as new friends and old foes await him in a strange new land. Determined to turn the tables, Moss embarks on an odyssey of self-discovery. The lines between real and false are increasingly blurred and new challenges face him at every turn.
